
Ernie was most proud of his wife, and the birth of his daughters and grandchildren. They married June 14, 2014, and were inseparable until she passed on June 29th. Rowe, and his life revolved around his love for her.

One of the orneriest people you could ever meet, Ernie was always a jokester and a prankster, and he loved to light up a room with his goofy personality. He also enjoyed watching trains and court cases at the Union County courthouse. In 1981, he continued his career at the Sharon Township Fire Department in Worthington, Plain City Fire Department, and even owned his own fire extinguisher business.Įrnie loved high school sports, and spent the next 42 years as a high school basketball referee. During this time, there were less than 100 paramedics in the United States, and he was one of four firemen in the city. Stationed in Hawaii, he always said “I fought the war from the beaches of Hawaii.”įrom a young age, Ernie had a passion for becoming a firefighter, and upon his honorable discharge from the Air Force, he began his career at Marysville Fire Department in 1973 as both a firefighter and paramedic. A graduate of Marysville High School, he went on to serve his country proudly in the United States Air Force from 1967 to 1971 as an airplane mechanic. His beloved wife, Linda, preceded him in death by only 15 days.Įrnie was born December 3, 1948, in Columbus to the late T.
